Does anyone have any experiences of buying a property in Emilia Romagna. I'm particularly keen to explore further towns/villages in the foothills of the Apennine Mountains but equally happy to look in areas close to the cities of Bologna, Modena or Parma.

Thank you

I have been living in the appenine mountains for the last 4 years, its a fantastic place and you can still get property at sensible prices, if you have any questions about the area or if I can help in any way just ask

I'm hoping to buy a property in the Borgo Val di Taro area. I haven't explored the area a great deal but as I'm a skier would like any suggestion as to the nearest ski resorts (not Abetone). I really don't mind how basic the resort is - just looking for some slopes!

We operate from Bologna and love the area, as we moved here a long time ago. The city of Bologna itself is quite expensive but there are some very good houses to be found south of the city. The hills and mountains are great for trekking, cycling and horse-riding and there is also an active canoe club just outside Bologna. Do get in touch if you want some more information.

I have made it a practice to collect business cards from real estate agents when I travel to Italy...Facebook and my Italian Facebook Realtor friends have been fantastic. Most respond and are "upfront" with info. on buying, or renting properties in Italy. www.TravelCheap24Seven.com, has also been a delight! Their fares compete or are lower than the rest....we travel to Italy several times a year. Getting their cheap helps! If you have a home, villa for sale, my clients are always looking great buys in Italy. Check in w/MikeColonna on facebook. Twitter is another good source to use for travel info. as well as Italia Magazine!
