I am looking to buy a new car and, as with all things Italian, I love the style and design of the Fiat 500. How much better are they from the old Fiat? How have they ironed out any previous problems and does anyone have any experience of things going wrong with them?

I would like to buy a small car in Italy as a run around when there. Although we have a place there we are not residents and without this it seems difficult to buy one. Can anyone help?

First of all, you cannot now buy a car in Italy unless you are resident. See more on www.italianpropertyexpert.com

Secondly, I purchased a new Fiat Punto for my ex-wife in July 2000. In those 8 years it has given no trouble of any kind, has just sailed through its MOT test and has had a thorough examination giving it a clean bill of health! The rust bucket is a thing of the past but remember (as with ANY car) - clean UNDER it, not just the surface, especially the wheel arches.
