Has anyone ever visited this town? It's near Salerno. I went there years ago for a working holiday and loved it - such a beautiful place, but very small and I've never heard of anyone else having visited it.

Although we have a little place of our own in Campania, we have not been to Corleto Monforte yet. I did check it out on Google Earth and see where it is - due east of coastal Agropoli, which we have visited after a day at ancient Paestum. It appears to lie on the side of a ridge or small mountain as so many of the hamlets/villages do. What was it that you found so nice or interesting about it? By the way, I wrote a story of our visit to Paestum which is located at:

Hoping you enjoy it and other adventures described there.

Nice to hear from you! I had a look at your blog - great site. I like your Paestum pictures - it took me back to my visit. What a lovely place! Corleto was just a pretty, peaceful place that felt like it was really in the heart of Italy - and full of friendly locals. Loved wandering the country lanes on summer's evenings - and enjoying great views of the Campanian countryside. Also, there was a great bar in the town which was open til late and served the most amazing pizzas at all hours. Delicious! Given your location in the country you have probably find many such places, but in that particular area Corleto was the only place I really saw, apart from Salerno.

I visited Corleto Monforte in Sept. 07. We found some of my family there. I hope to return in 2009, but would like some info about hotels or other places to stay while there. I've been having bad luck looking for someplace close. If you can help, thanks very much.
