Damp problems

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with damp in our Puglia home? The house was newly built last year in traditional style therefore no damp course included!! We visit occassionally in Autumn & Winter when each time we end up wiping mould off furniture and other surfaces. One person has suggested 'sealing' the stone floors to prevent the damp rising - has anybody any experience of doing this? Other thoughts include constant use of a dehumidifier (huge electricity bill??). All advice gratefully received.

It's very important to know why you have this problem. There are several causes and , off course, there are for each a specify solution. If you want send me some pictures. I'm an engineer and I work to renovate old masserie and to build apulian style house, too.
