Hi, we are planning to move to Abruzzo in May 09 and are trying to get information and contacts about ground source heating ie coils underground. Any info or recommended companies would be great. thanks

IMHO you would be wasting your money.. solar panels grab lots of higher grade heat - ie hotter - the running consumption is minimal and the purchase cost is less. A heat store is the best core element of a system using wood stove, solar and gas. Ours works fabulously and costs a fraction of the horrendous bills we keep hearing about.

... I can see from the gaps between posts that this chat has a huge following.... however you might be interested to know that my solar panel is up and running and puts in about 8 hours of pumping a day. My system ensures that the panels have a cold target so that they work in winter even when the hot tank is heated up by the wood stove. Only one gas refill a year ... hooray.
