Hi All
We are currently looking at the possibilities of purchasing a property/buisness in the Le Marche region of Italy. We are both English, holding english passports but currently residing in New Zealand. Having seen numerous properties via the Internet! we are now looking at planning another visit to Italy to view possible properties later in the year. Can anyone shed any light on the legalities of using a property to let or B & B even if it is currently a residential property? i.e. what criteria doe's it have to meet or what permit's need to be obtained e.t.c.?? Here's hoping for some input thanks

I was just viewing the Italia forum page and saw your e-mail.
We have two properties (side by side) in Le Marche which we are wanting to sell. We bought them in the hope that once renovated, we would rent one out as a holiday let/ B&B and live in the other one. One is a 3 storey farmhouse with 5 bedrooms, the other is a 3 bedroom modern villa.
Don't know if you have found a property for your venture yet, but if you are interested, drop me a line and I'll send you a link to a website that we've set up.
Many thanks

Hello, just read your message, I have an agent in Le Marche who speaks fluent English who can help you with all aspects of B&B including taxes. He is an estate agent but also a property developer who sells new property on my site www.italianproperties.org

One great way to find rentals in Italy is to log into the desired city's website, check the lodging and rental sections, and e-mail the numerous leads. I have had lots'a luck with rentals on the Island of Ishcia, Sorrento and surrounding areas.

That's good advice for rentals. Other good sites to look at are www.italianpropertyexpert.com and www.brianfrench.com
