I am considering starting a business in Le Marche. Does anyone know what regulations would apply to working with tourists? My business would centre on walking, culture and food in Le Marche.
If I was registered in the UK or Italy would this make a difference?
I would not be employing anyone else at the start, but this may change in the future.

Have you seen the Cadogan guide 'working in Italy' Its quite a good starter guide to all things likely to be encountered living or working in the country.

Hi Sharon, I'm in the process of starting a business in Sardinia and I found the book "How to Italy" by Emma Bird helpful for checking out the legal aspect for small business entreprenuers. The one thing I would say is get ready to wait a long time for everything! Best of luck.

It is really important to get good avice before you start or you can end up in a mess. You need a good accountant who can advice you 'cross border'. There is usually a google ad for some such firm on www.italianpropertyexpert.com

Base your company in the UK if you can. The Italian legal / taxation system is very complicated and disproportionately costly. If you operate from home, you can avoid getting caught in traps and loopholes which could potentially cost you your living!
